At first, I never imagined that visiting Ponce Suites, in Davao City, would change my perspective on art. I could not imagine that all those I see from TV programs, like art attack, are possibly made real, like large portraits, and those household material-made art. There, I was not able to see a person's creativity, but a person's imagination, a person's world, a person's perspective. I was not looking at a work of art, rather I was looking into the whole life of a person, and that is Kublai's.
Not only does he do paintings, he also makes household-material arts, like putting together pins, plates, and other metallic things to make up a person's image, he also makes photographs, but what's the most amazing thing to see there is those large sculptures, that were hand made and put into concrete. Until now, I am eager to take another visit at the Ponce Suites, because in their, the artist in me fills up, and it encourages me to have my own work of art as well.
